The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, has been honored with an Award of Special Recognition at the JCI RockCity Ogun Youth Development and Empowerment Summit (OYDES 5.0), a testament to his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment.
While he was unable to attend the event in person, the NSC Boss was ably represented by Hon. Tunde Delu, who received the prestigious award on his behalf.
Reacting to the honor, Olopade expressed deep gratitude to JCI RockCity and the entire OYDES 5.0 organizing team, noting that the award serves as a powerful validation of his core philosophy regarding youth development.
“This recognition means a lot to me, not only because of the honour itself, but because it reinforces my belief that when we invest in our young people, we are investing in the future of Nigeria,” Olopade stated.
The Director-General used the opportunity to reiterate the National Sports Commission’s expansive mandate, emphasizing that the focus of the administration extends far beyond podium finishes.
“At the National Sports Commission, our commitment goes beyond winning medals,” he explained. “We are determined to use sports as a platform to discover talents, create opportunities, build confidence, and empower the next generation of Nigerians to reach their full potential.”
Olopade dedicated the special recognition to the millions of young Nigerians whose dreams, talent, resilience, and determination continue to serve as his daily inspiration.
Reaffirming his pledge to the nation’s youth, he concluded: “The work continues, and I remain committed to building a sports ecosystem where every young Nigerian has an opportunity to dream, compete, succeed, and make a meaningful contribution to our great nation through sport.”
