New Era for Nigerian Gymnastics: GFN Taps Kuti Dare as Media Director

The Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria (GFN) has officially announced the appointment of Kuti Oluwadamilare Ismail to head its media department, elevating him to a seat on the Federation’s board.

In a formal letter dated September 27, 2026, the GFN revealed that its executive board unanimously approved the appointment during a strategic meeting held the same day. Signed by the GFN President, Prince Kelvin Erhunwunse, the letter highlighted Kuti’s stellar track record, unwavering dedication, and significant contributions to the growth of Nigerian sports as the primary drivers behind the decision.
Prince Erhunwunse congratulated the new Media Director, expressing strong confidence that this appointment will further spur him to deliver on his mandate.

Kuti’s Vision for the Federation
In his acceptance response, Kuti pledged to bring his wealth of experience to the table, ensuring that gymnastics receives the spotlight it deserves on the national sports scene.

“I promise to discharge my duties and promote gymnastics, just as I have always promoted other sports in Nigeria,” Kuti stated.

Outlining his immediate goals, he emphasized that this new role is a golden opportunity to amplify the sport and highlight the unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes to develop it across the country. Through strategic media engagements, Kuti aims to give Nigerian gymnasts, grassroots coaches, and local competitions unprecedented visibility.

“I am grateful for the confidence placed in me. I look forward to working with the board to tell the stories of our athletes and help more Nigerians connect with gymnastics,” he concluded.
