The Head Coach of Bendel Insurance of Benin , Monday Odigie on Sunday after his team were held to a 2 all draw at home by RS Berkane, the defending Champions in the second round of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stage in Benin.
Odigie speaking in an unguarded emotional strength stated that football is all about participation and not about winning the game.
“Can you just take joy that your team is playing in the continent and defending the pride of the nation.
“Appreciate football, appreciate performance. It is not all about the result but performance ” he stated.
“We want to remain in the tournament but if the result is not favourable then we go home and prepare for a next time “.
He then urged the media to educate the people what football is all about, it is about appreciating your team that drew against the defending Champions at home he emphasised.
