NPFL: Kwara United tops the league log with another victory over Nasarawa United

It was a good day at the office for Abdullahi Biffo led Kwara United as they returned to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table with a 2 nil win over Nasarawa United.

The north central derby lived up to its billing as Nasarawa United controlled possession right from the blast of the whistle.

On the 17th minute, Nasarawa United thought they had gotten the lead when Chinedu Ohanachom found the back of net after benefitting from Dele Aiyenugba’s mistake.

Kwara United grew into the game as they gradually grew into the game.

Kwara United got the lead in the 58th minute when full back, Samuel Ganda lashed onto a loose pass from Jude Stephen to raffle home the opener from close.

The solid miners in search of an equalize came all out as the dou of Silas Nwankwo and Chinedu Ohanachom tried their luck from distance but could not hit target.

Ebuka Anaekwe and Tebo Franklin tested Dele Aiyenugba before Jude Stephen dribbled his way pass two Nasarawa united players before bending his effort narrowly wide.

On the 81st minutes, Micheal Ohanu sealed the points for the Harmony warriors as he glided the ball past Godwin Ameh in goal for Nasarawa united as Kwara United returned to the top of the npfl table.

With the win Kwara United return top of the league with 36 points from 19 games as Nasarawa United dropped down to 6th from the same number of games.
