NWFL: Christopher Danjuma reveals reasons why his side lost in Akure

Nasarawa Amazons Chief Coach, Chris Danjuma while speaking with the press revealed the reasons why his side lost scandalously to the Sunshine Queens of Akure in one of MD 13 fixtures of the NWFL on Wednesday.

In a game Nasarawa Amazon needed just a win to advance to the playoffs that would had determined who will represent Nigeria in the inaugural edition of the Caf Africa Woman Champions League, The Lafia based ladies fell like a pack of cards as Sunshine Queens made meals of their more experienced visitors.

Speaking after the game, Danjuma berated his side’s defensive blunders as a loss of concentration that gifted the Akure babes three unnecessary goals.

“This is another side of football, we came here with a plan, but we made some defensive blunders and we were out of the contest. Football is a game of chance, not because your opponents play better or because you dominate but we make mistakes and learn from them”.

On what he thinks about the game?

“No matter how you assess a game, if your ultimate desire is not met. Is there any assessment? Yes, we are keeping the ball, Yes we were trying to play constructive football but to no avail”. The Coach of the Falconets lamented.

Goals from Yakubu Aminat, Ogbonna Akudo and Sunday Abigail secured the final slot for the home side as Nasarawa Amazon will have to make do with the relegation playoffs to secure a spot in the premiership for next season.
