Osun FA Team And Ila United FC Reach Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup Semi-Finals

The Osun FA Team and Ila United sealed their qualification into the Semi-Finals of the ongoing Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup on Thursday at the Osogbo City Stadium.

Osun FA Team, got past the more experienced Orolu United team 5-4 via penalties, after a highly tensed game that failed to produce goals in regulation time.

Osun FA Team will now meet the winner between Ilesa East and Ede South, a game that would be played on Friday at the same venue by 10am.

The second quarter finals game on Thursday saw Odo-Otin Utd and Ila United sharing the spoils after both played out a 1-1 draw.

Sulaiman Awolowo opened scoring in the 11th minute for Ila United, before Moshood Olaniyan levelled up late in the 77th minute to give his side, Odo-Otin United life line.

Ila United were the lucky side in the shootout, as they advanced to the last four of the Competition, winning Odo-Otin Utd 4-3 via penalties.

They will face the winner between Egbedore United and Atakumosa East FC.

The Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup Football Competition was initiated by Honourable Bamidele Salam in the year 2020, to immortalize the selfless, philanthropic services of the first civilian Governor of Osun State, who was a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and an astute Politician when he was alive.

The third edition of the Competition has being expanded to involve selected Football Clubs from the 30 Local Governments in Osun State and the Ife East Area Office.
