Saliu Tayo Junior, an ex-player of Chykap Football Club, Lagos has further proven his nickname “Lion” with a roaring goal against his former team Rosengard FC in their final league game held in Malmo City, Sweden.
The goal against his former team could not save his current team from defeat as they lost 3 – 2, but shows he is a prolific asset in the attacking line of any top-flight team
Saliu featured in 24 league games and 9 cup games and scored 13 goals and 8 assists to become the highest goal scorer and leading marksman in FBK Balkan, Sweden, despite playing mostly as a winger and occasionally as a center forward.
Recall that Saliu was very instrumental to the crowning of FBK Balkan as Champions of the just concluded District Master Cup, which earned them a spot in the FA Cup and hopeful qualification to play in the high profile UEFA Europa League in 2024.
“I am super excited with my performance this season, having scored 13 goals and 8 assists for my team FBK Balkan and hopefully, I get an opportunity to play in a bigger stage next season” – Saliu said.
