Super Falcons Midfielder Toni Payne has hailed her teammates after they mauled Queensland Lions by 8-1 on Saturday.

Two goals from Barcelona star, Asisat Oshoala, followed by lone goals from Ifeoma Onumonu, Rasheedat Ajibade, Toni Payne, Halimatu Ayinde and Gift Monday, gave the former African Champion a well deserved win.

The Sevilla of Spain star noted that the Super Falcons are ready for every opponent they will be playing at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, starting from the game against Canada on July 21st.
“As a team, we played well and our major objective is to grow and improve in every game and training,” She said.

“I think we played well today and step by step, we are improving and looking forward to our game against Canada.
“We are very confident and I think the players we have here at at the same level as them and definitely, we are ready to fight.” She concluded.
The Super Falcons will begin their campaign at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup against Olympic Champions Canada on Friday, July 21.
Australia and Republic of Ireland are the other teams in the group.
