Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, continued their preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Abuja-based Camp United FC Boys on Saturday afternoon.
The tune-up fixture, played at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja, offered the technical crew another valuable opportunity to assess the squad’s physical stamina, tactical discipline, and match fitness against local male opposition.
The Falconets made an explosive start to the match, taking the lead in the 9th minute when intense early pressure forced an own goal from Camp United’s Ahmed Abubakar. Building on their momentum, the Nigerian ladies doubled their advantage in the 18th minute courtesy of a brilliant finish from Mafisere Kafayat Oluwatosin.
Camp United FC Boys mounted a rally in the second half, cutting the deficit in the 52nd minute through a strike from Abdurrahrem Alimi. However, the Falconets displayed impressive composure and defensive resilience to see out the remainder of the contest and secure the win.
The victory marks another positive step in the Falconets’ ongoing Abuja training camp, as they continue to sharpen their squad ahead of their departure for the World Cup in Poland.
