In a monumental achievement for Nigerian and African sports administration, Mrs. Olabisi Temitope Joseph has been elected as the Continental President for Africa of the International School Sport Federation (ISF).
The highly anticipated election took place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, during the 2026 ISF General Assembly held in Belgrade, Serbia. The global gathering attracted delegates from no fewer than 82 countries, with a total of 79 member nations casting their votes to determine the new leadership.
With this resounding victory at the polls, Mrs. Joseph, who also serves as the President of the Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF), shatters the glass ceiling to become the first female in Africa and the first woman in the history of the ISF to attain this prestigious continental position.
Her election is widely celebrated as a testament to her years of dedication, hard work, and relentless commitment to grassroots sports. More broadly, this historic achievement serves as a clear indication of Nigeria’s rapidly growing leadership, influence, and strategic importance in the development of school sports across the African continent and the world at large.
