Following a dominant, unbeaten run at the 2026 FIBA Africa Women’s Basketball League (AWBL) Zone 3 Qualifiers in Monrovia, the Chairman of MFM Women’s Basketball Club, Godwin Enakhena, has expressed deep gratitude to corporate sponsor Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited.

Fresh off a resounding 77–46 victory over Flames Female Basketball Club of Liberia to secure another win in the qualification tournament, Enakhena highlighted the critical role Sunbeth played in powering the team’s journey to Liberia.
Enakhena revealed that when funding for the continental qualifiers hung in the balance, Sunbeth Global Concepts stood alone as the sole corporate entity to answer the call.
“When we were preparing for Monrovia, we reached out to numerous corporate entities, but Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited was the only organization that responded to my proposal to support our trip to Liberia,” Enakhena said. “For the Managing Director of Sunbeth, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi and his team, this wasn’t just a corporate sponsorship—it is genuinely about empowering the girl-child through basketball. Their belief in these young women made our victory on the court possible, and this qualification belongs to them as much as it belongs to the team.”
Under the leadership of Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, Sunbeth Global Concepts stepped up to cover key travel and operational logistics for the Nigerian contingent. This vital financial backing allowed the players—bolstered by standout performances from the likes of Ukamaka Okoh, Marvis Hembam, and Idubamo Beggi—to focus entirely on their on-court execution.
Having swept their opponents in style so far in Monrovia, the MFM girls are carrying both national pride and the unwavering backing of their primary sponsor into their remaining fixtures against D-Rockas (Liberia), Energie Basketball (Benin Republic), and FBA Gladiators (Côte d’Ivoire) as they set their sights firmly on the AWBL Final Tournament in Cairo this December.
