Following a breathtaking 3-1 victory over Brazil in Morocco that secured their first-ever place in the tournament final, Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingoes, have been urged to maintain absolute focus as they prepare to face Japan for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup trophy.

The caution was issued by the President of Ahudiyannem Football Club, Chief Dr. Robert Onyeani, who congratulated the team on their historic semi-final triumph but stressed that the celebrations must immediately give way to total concentration on the ultimate prize.
Dr. Onyeani specifically warned the players and the technical crew against underrating Japan, highlighting the Asian nation’s pedigree as a formidable powerhouse in women’s football that demands the highest level of tactical discipline and respect.
He charged the squad to approach Saturday’s final with unwavering seriousness, expressing strong confidence that maintaining their composure and tactical sharpness will push them across the finish line to lift the trophy for the first time in the nation’s history. Concluding his remarks, Dr. Onyeani noted that capturing the global title would not only write a glorious new chapter for Nigerian sports but also serve as a massive inspiration for the next generation of young female footballers across the country.
