A former President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, High Chief Fan Ndubuoke, is set to lead a workshop on ethical sports reporting for members of the association’s Imo State chapter.
The workshop, themed “Balancing Truth and Loyalty: Ethical Responsibilities in Sports Reporting,” will hold on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Owerri, alongside the association’s general congress.
According to a statement signed by the Chairman of SWAN Imo, Cosmos Chukwuemeka, and the Secretary, Tunde Liadi, the session is aimed at addressing ethical challenges faced by sports journalists, particularly the need to remain objective while maintaining professional relationships.
Ndubuoke, who has also served as Chairman of the Imo State Sports Commission and the Imo State Football Association, is expected to share insights drawn from his experience in sports administration and journalism.
The statement also disclosed that there will be a training session on Artificial Intelligence in media practice, to be facilitated by O’Town Gist Media, as part of efforts to equip members with modern digital skills.
The association said the workshop is part of efforts to strengthen professionalism and uphold ethical standards among its members in a changing media environment.
Members have been urged to attend both the congress and the workshop, which will take place at No. 26 School Road, Owerri.
