The Tinubu Support Organisation Football Directorate, in line with the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda, has approved the appointments of Football Coordinators for States in the North Central Zone of Nigeria, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, ahead of the TSO National Football Tournament slated for April, 2026.
In the list released by the North Central Zonal Coordinator of the TSO and Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Mr. Solomon Babanjah, retired Director of Information from the Nasarawa State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and Akwanga All Stars FC Patron, Mr. Danmusa Mohammed Oweh, will serve as Coordinator for Nasarawa State.
Others are, former Chairman of Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi and now Permanent Secretary, Benue State Ministry of Youth, Sports and Creativity, Dr. Philip Ter Nongu as Benue State Coordinator; Plateau United FC’s General Manager, Barrister Gideon Atu Izang, will coordinate Plateau State; Shaibu Yakubu will coordinate for Niger State; Muhammad Abdullahi will serve as Coordinator for Kogi State, while Dele Abubakar(MON), and Mr. Patrick Ngwaogu will coordinate for Kwara State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, accordingly.
The appointments which take immediate effect, will see the Coordinators overseeing their various States’ implementation, liaise with local football teams to raise a formidable State team each for the Zonal eliminations competition en route to the national finals against winners from the remaining five Zones of the Country.
Additionally, the Coordinators shall organize coaching clinics, refereeing courses, and administrative workshops in their various States to strengthen football management structure at local level, as well as leveraging sports as a medium for community outreach and civil participation.
The TSO Football Project is an avenue for talent discovery, promote social cohesion and deepen community engagement in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu(GCFR).
Dates and venues for the Zonal play-offs and national finals shall be announced in due course.
