Women Champions League: WAFU B Champions Bayelsa Queens Rob shoulders with Cup Holders

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Champions, Bayelsa Queens will play holders, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa in their opening group game of the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Nigerian and WAFU-B Champions were drawn in Group B to face Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, last year’s host team, Wadi Degla, and a yet to be determined UNIFFAC Zonal Champions.

Bayelsa Queens recently defeated Ampem Darkoa of Ghana to win the WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers to qualify for the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The team clinched the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership title with a perfect record of five wins in five Super Six games in Benin City, Edo State.

The Prosperity Girls will be making its debut appearance at this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.

Rivers Angels represented Nigeria and WAFU-B Zonal at the maiden TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League alongside Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana last year in Egypt.

Group A of this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League comprises of ASFAR FC of Morocco, Simba Queens of Tanzania, Green Buffaloes of Zambia and Determine Girls of Liberia.
