Rasheedat Ajibade has reiterated on Super Falcons’ ambition to win the Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations title again for a tenth time.
Ajibade was named Woman of the Match in Super Falcons’ 1-0 win against Cameroon on Thursday night.
Speaking at the post-match conference, Ajibade hailed her teammates for the award. “I dedicate this Woman of the Match award to the entire team. These girls are just fantastic. Without them, I will not be here before you with this reward.”
In spite of recent criticism from the press and fans of Nigerian football after the loss to South Africa, the Super Falcons have bounced back from this setback and aiming for their la Decima.
“Nigeria could not afford to be absent for the World Cup. There’s a new generation of Super Falcons, who arrive hungry and deserve for the world to see their talent. We know what we came here for, we want to leave with the cup, our decima.
“There are a lot of criticism and it gave us that zeal and determination to want to stay at the top.
“Right now, we are not focusing on the criticism, but our mission and goals ahead of us. We will take each game as they come and end up becoming Champions again for the tenth time.” She Concluded.
Ajibade is currently the joint top scorer in the tournament with 3 goals and 2 assists from the Athletico Madrid forward.
Super Falcons will battle it out with host Morocco next Monday in Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah cauldron for a place in the final
