Sydney Mungala, Head Of Media, Zambia Football Federation has said the Zambia U-20 Football Side is ready for the big test against the Nigeria U-20 side, the Flying Eagles.

The Zambian Men’s U-20 Side are presently in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, for a face off on Friday and Monday, with the Flying Eagles as they both prepare for the TotalEnergies Egypt 2023 U-20 Africa Cup Of Nations.
” Playing against the Flying Eagles is an opportunity for us to test ourselves against teams that are highly ranked,” Mungala said.

“Nigeria is a very strong team and have a crop of exciting players. I believe our boys are motivated to play against Eagles.
“We have had a good run beating all the teams in the COSAFA region, it is a different ball game in West Africa. If we can give a good account of ourselves against the highly rated Nigerian side it will act as a morale booster to the team and motivate and ensure that we give our best.

“We are happy that Nigerians are preparing for something, both teams are preparing to work on their teams.
We couldn’t miss this opportunity because it will give us an idea of how strong we are and also on how we need to build ahead of the forthcoming U-20 AFCON.
The Zambia under-20 squad will proceed to Dakar to face Senegal on 9th February, 2023 for another international friendly before flying to Egypt the next day.
The squad will fly directly to Alexandria from Dakar after playing their final friendly match.
Zambia will launch their 2023 AFCON title ambitions with a Group C match against Benin on 21st February before tackling Gambia at Alexandria stadium three days later.
They will wrap up their Group C engagement with a clash against north-Africans Tunisia on 27 February.
